Scandalous – disturbing lies about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s history in the Canadian Catholic School
During 10th grade history class at Michael Power Catholic School students are learning such horribly false and fabricated historical facts about Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was stated in the history workbook/textbook that “Bosnia had originally been a province of Serbia but was annexed when Austria-Hungary defeated Serbia in earlier conflict”. It is also read that “the majority of people in Bosnia were Serbs, and many desired to return to Serbia”. The Canadian textbook in question is “Face of a Nation”; 2000. Authors: Angelo Bolotta, Jennifer Watt, Charles Hawkes, Fred Jarman, and Marc Keirstead. The fact that this lie was found by children of parents who came to Canada as a result of aggression and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina clearly speaks of patriotic consciousness and knowledge of the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bosnian community in Canada has already taken a number of actions in this connection. Knowledge must be based on facts, not on lies.
