Verdict on Karadzic can establish new facts on the characteristics of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Institute for Research of Genocide Canada {IGC} expects of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) to issue the maximum penalty conviction for Radovan Karadzic, and that at least implicitly moral condemnation impose to the death penalty of criminal and morbid practice which is continuously carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

IGC argued that the verdict for Karadzic is an event that needs to show that criminals must be punished, and their crimes must be condemned as anti-civilization. It is a crucial judgment that will largely determine the character of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the purpose of war crimes.
The paradigm of the most vicious atrocities after the Holocaust it was the evil acts committed during the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina, a key figure and the personification of the most vicious atrocities is precisely Radovan Karadzic. The trial of him and other criminals showed all morbidity and obscured mind that swept masses contaminated criminal, great state of ideology.
IGC hopes that beyond a reasonable doubt ICTY judgment to determine that it was a genocide, but not only with regard to its responsibility for genocide in Srebrenica, but also in the wider area of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We believe that the verdict will establish new facts and evidence which were not known at the time of sentencing at the International Court of Justice in the case of Bosnia and Herzegovina against Serbia and Montenegro for violations of the Genocide Convention which are of such importance that it can constitute a valid basis for the renewal of this process. All relevant evidence used in the trial, and on the basis of which the ICTY informed decision and help us shed light on the horrific events should be made available to the general public and become part of our educational system and a comprehensive knowledge of the terrible events during the devastating aggression against the state Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Unfortunately, faced with a number of examples of the impact of policy decisions on the ICTY can’t be excluded disappointing decision from the point of establishing the truth and necessary satisfaction to victims of genocide and other war crimes.
The verdict is the hope for the families of victims of the genocide that should get satisfaction for the crimes committed against their loved ones. If you stop the denial of genocide and if true face facts, this judgment may have historic significance for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the same time the judgment can mean the beginning of true catharsis for those who have not yet abandoned the policy that resulted in genocide.
IGC expects that the ICTY make the right final judgment with respect to the standards of the legal profession and thus contribute to definitely end the epoch of wars in the region, and to bring those responsible for these wars settled on that place in history with their deeds deserve. That is certainly the basis of our human future.
