• Institute For Research of Genocide Canada, PRESS RELEASE, May 17, 2024

Institute For Research of Genocide Canada is demanding the dismissal of European Union Enlargement Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi due to open agitation against the Resolution of the UNGA on the genocide in Srebrenica.

It is anti-civilizational that the high official of the European Union in charge of enlargement agitates directly against the official position of the European Union, humiliating the final judgments of international courts, humiliating international justice and humiliating the victims of genocide.

The statement of European Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi opposing the adoption of the Resolution on Srebrenica in the UNGA, claiming that it is an attempt to impose collective guilt on the Serbian people, is contrary to the values on which the European Union rests, and is based on complete falsehoods.

The statement also contradicts the resolutions of the European Parliament, which emphasize the fact that genocide was committed in Srebrenica.

With these claims Várhelyi is classified among those who deny genocide and deny the Resolution.

We call on the European Commission to publicly fence and condemn Várhelyi’s opposition to the adoption of the Resolution.

We call on the competent institutions to ban Várhelyi from approaching the Genocide Memorial Center in Srebrenica until he apologizes to the victims of the genocide.

We call on the state institutions of BiH to react and declare Várhelyi unwelcome in BiH.

We invite the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to invite the Hungarian ambassador for a conversation and hand him a sharp diplomatic note.

A Hungarian official whose country is against the UNGA Resolution directly supports the Serbian, Russian, Chinese and Hungarian anti-civilization campaign against the proposed Resolution commemorating the genocide in Srebrenica.
