IGC welcomes consideration of Resolution before UN.
IGC welcomes the announcement of consideration of the Resolution on the Srebrenica Genocide before the United Nations General Assembly. We expressed their gratitude to the proponents of this resolution – the Republic of Rwanda and the Federal Republic of Germany.
IGC invites all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, holders of responsible positions in institutions in the country and the world, all friends of BiH, political and religious leaders, legal authorities, activists, civil society organizations and memorials to do everything in their power in order to ensure full support for the Resolution and its adoption next month.
IGC warns that the Resolution is important for the future and an opportunity for the final confirmation of the relationship of civilization to the genocide in Srebrenica.
In a time of instability and constant threats to peace, violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the results of the voting in the General Assembly will not only determine the attitude of the international community towards the past and the genocide in Srebrenica but will also be a guide for who our country can count on. as a partner and ally in times of insecurity and threats. They will be our allies, on whom we can count, in the days and years ahead.
The International expert team of the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada will focus on intensive communication with international and domestic partners, and all the institution’s resources will be dedicated to advocating the successful adoption of the Resolution from today until the moment when that proposal comes on the agenda of the General Assembly.

IGC asks all member states of the UN General Assembly support to UNGA Resolution on Srebrenica

IGC called on all member states of the UN General Assembly to put all the efforts to have the accurate and true information reach the decision-makers in their respective countries, in regard with the adoption of the Resolution on Srebrenica before the UN General Assembly.

Your support and message will significantly contribute to the raising of the awareness and building a joint stance towards the justice and peace. Emphasising the values of empathy, justice and reconciliation, we can convey an important message together.

IGC will not allow a dirty anti-diplomatic campaign from Belgrade destroy the efforts of the entire world towards the confirmation of July 11 as the International Remembrance Day for the Srebrenica Genocide, which would undeniably and permanently carve this date into the calendars of the UN and thus become the world history – not as a footnote but as a lesson for all those to come.

Draft resolution details
The document consists of seven main points, including that July 11 is declared as the International Remembrance Day for the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide.
It among other things also condemns the denial of Srebrenica genocide and encourages the member states to develop adequate programmes in their curriculums towards the prevention of revisionism and repeating of genocide in the future.
The draft resolution emphasises the importance of finalising the process of finding and identifying the remaining missing victims of the Srebrenica genocide, their burial and criminal persecution of those involved in committing the genocide.
The proponents are Germany and Rwanda.
