PEACEFUL PROTESTS ON JANUARY 10, 2022

PEACEFUL PROTESTS ON JANUARY 10, 2022, IN BRUSSELS IN FRONT OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT, THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, AND THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION

Given the current political and security situation and the possible threat to peace caused by radical and illegal decisions and policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we deem it necessary for Bosnians in the diaspora to organize public protests against constant and severe attacks on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Monday, January 10, was symbolically chosen because it is the first actual working day after the holiday in 2022. At the same time, the day after celebrating the unconstitutional, unilateral establishment of the so-called ‘Serbian Republic of BiH’ in 1992.

The event should take place in Brussels, the seat of the European Union institutions. We invite our citizens worldwide to join us and organize similar rallies in their communities.

The goal is to gather as many Bosnians and Herzegovinians as possible and other citizens of European countries in Brussels, those from Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, and Great Britain, Luxembourg, and Austria, and other countries.

PEACEFUL PROTEST BEGINS ON JANUARY 10 AT 11 AM IN THE SQUARE: PLACE DU LUXEMBOURG IN BRUSSELS

We want to emphasize that this gathering reflects concern and patriotism and does not aim to promote any political option directed against any people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The events we have witnessed in the last six months are too reminiscent of the pre-war period, and at least we survivors have a duty and a right to speak out and say clearly:
‘We do not want a war, and we do not want divisions, both the division of our country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and among the people. There has always been a place for everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it will remain so. Therefore everyone is obliged to respect the Constitution and the laws of our country.”

After meeting, in front of all participants, we will send a letter to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a request to prosecute all parties and individuals who violate the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, we will address open letters to all officials in Brussels, New York, Washington, and those in other capitals of the Peace Implementation Council member states with clear messages that peace has no alternative. The West cannot put Bosnia and Herzegovina in the same position as near the end of 1991, which had parallel institutions and autonomous regions contrary to the state’s Constitution. Such was also an introduction to aggression, persecution, mass war crimes, and genocide, for which many of the war criminals were brought to justice by the international courts. Today, we are looking to prevent repeating the history of the 1990s!
