On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Prijedor
Artistic creation of Anita Zecic, member of the International Expert Team of the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada, the air-filled, hemi spherically shaped installation was constructed out of white textile and has a radius of 3 meters. Institute for Research of Genocide Canada invites all friends of truth and justice, all human rights and freedoms to help this very important project.

“Those who can not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” George Santayana
“I have committed myself to never let this crime to be forgotten”. Anita Zecic

The air-filled, hemi spherically shaped installation was constructed out of white textile and has a radius of 3 meters. It is accessible at two opposing narrow entrances. The main purpose of this installation is to convey the anxiety in enclosed spaces and the feeling of inability to escape…it is an attempt to trigger the feeling of being captured and locked in; to show a fraction of the emotions and fear that the detainees have experienced while detained in concentration camps. The memorial is white and transparent. The goal was to create an effect of silhouettes from the inside without knowing how the surrounding perceives a person who is in fact “detained”.
Visitors will listen to survivors’ testimonies on the screen – this will enable them to see their emotions
and facial expressions.

What is your contribution for the remembrance of the genocide?
I am going to accompany the memorial in all cities and will be available for the public and media.
Take on responsibility! Help us giving the victims a voice! This is the least we can do!
