UN Srebrenica Genocide Resolution

United Kingdom has prepared a draft resolution on proclaiming 11 July a day of remembrance for the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, which is sent to the UN General Assembly for adoption. Resolution are already supported by Netherlands and the United States.

The Institute for Research of Genocide supports this resolution.

Recognising that July 11 2015 is the twentieth anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, recognising the importance combating impunity for all violations tah continuity the crime of genocide, mass atrocities, war crimes, ethnic cleaning against humanity, emphasizing the particular importance of all forms of education in order to prevent commission of future genocides call on all states to act in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the crime of genocide in ensuring that there is no repetition of events of the kind, which occurred in the UN – declared safe area of Srebrenica 1995.
