Answer to the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies

The Institute for Research of Genocide Canada , and the Congress of North American Bosniaks sent a letter to the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland asking for a ban on the lecture of Mr. Emir Kusturica, the denier of genocide in Srebrenica, the denier of integrity, sovereignty and political subjectivity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Friends of truth and justice have responded well and sent many letters to the Institute. The Institute for Genocide Research Canada received a response from prof. Dr. Andre Liebich, mediator of this lecture. In the answer, among other things, Mr. Andre Liebich says: “Thank you for your messages. The Graduate Institute has asked me to respond on its behalf. Emir Kusturica has been invited as one of most prominent Balkan film makers of the last thirty years. The audience will have occasion to ask him questions after his talk which will deal with multiculturalism”.

The Institute for Research of Genocide Canada, and the Congress of North American Bosniaks replied to Mr. Andre Liebich.
Dear Mr. Andre Liebich,

Thank you for your reply. In our letter that is supported by almost all Bosniak organizations and communities in the world, we are not talking about Mr. Emir Kusturica as a filmmaker. We are speaking about Mr. Kusturica, as a denier of a court-verified genocide in Srebrenica, we are talking about a person who in the worst, anti-civilization, dehumanizing manner has hurt all victims of genocide not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also around the whole world. Which as a result has humiliated truth and justice because he denies the verdicts of supreme world legal authorities.

It is possible for an individual who works for the interests of the great-nationalist politics of Mr. Milorad Dodik, the president of the smaller Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity, Republika Srpska, who can be found on the American black list, to speak about multiculturalism? Should a person who directly works against the Idea of Bosnia and the Spirit of Bosnia specifically related to Bosnian-Herzegovinian multiculturalism, be granted the opportunity to speak at your prestigious institution. His appearance at your institution is one of the biggest attack on genocide, truth and justice, the reconciliation process, and transitional justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We want to remind you in particular that Switzerland punishes every denial of genocide. There is plenty of evidence about the daily denial of genocide in Srebrenica by Mr. Kusturica. So there is a legal basis to prohibit the appearance of Mr. Kusturica.

We write this on behalf of the tens of thousands of people, women and children who would be humiliated by your decision on Mr. Kusturica’s performance. In the end we are confident that his performance would negatively affect the high reputation of your academic institution. We stay on the victim’s side. Mr. Andre Liebich, we invite you and your academic institution to join us and prohibit the appearance of Mr. Kusturica.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Emir Ramic
Chairman of the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada
Eldin Elezovic
President of the Congress of North American Bosniaks
