It was stated in the press release that, according to his own statements on Arte TV Channel (4:08 min Arte TV),
Prof. Manoschek of the University of Vienna worked on a report that denies the Srebrenica Genocide for the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska RS.
The report in question was commissioned by the RS to be published on the 26th anniversary of the genocide, with contempt for the victims and their families.
The press release mentioned the letters the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada IGC wrote to the University of Vienna in this regard. In the first letter, questions were posed to the rector of the University of Vienna and the members of the ethics committee about the activities of Professor Manoschek, as well as about the failure of the University of Vienna to distance itself from the denial of genocide and the disregard of the Code of Conduct of the University of Vienna.
This letter with questions about the most heinous crimes in the world – genocide – was not answered by the rector nor the members of the ethics committee of the University of Vienna.
The IGC received a reply from the University of Vienna, but it had neither an appropriate signature nor a salutation. To date, the University of Vienna has not distanced itself from the work of Prof. ManoschekThe Austrian political party SÖZ stated that this casts a sad shadow over Austria and called on the responsible governing bodies of the University of Vienna to take a position on this situation immediately.
