Interview with David Pettigrew

I am just returning from Sarajevo.

When I began my lecture during the plenary session of the conference, I announced that I was honored to bring greetings from Emir Ramic, director of the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada.  I announced the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada had just held an Academy in Toronto in honor of the 20th anniversary of Independence Day,  and finally, that under Emir Ramic’s  leadership  the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada accomplished an act of Parliament to recognize July 11 as Srebrenica Remembrance Day in Canada.

The conference was excellent and concluded with a screening of my documentary film. (followed by a formal list of conference conclusions from Dr. Smail Cekic)

I was honored to be asked to be part of the delegation to lay a wreath at the memorial for the murdered children of Sarajevo. Of course this was a very emotional moment for the delegation as we also  met with parents who lost their children.

Also, on Independence Day an interview was broadcast on Federal Television.

I will include the link here:  http://www.federalna.ba/bhs/vijest/15020/o-danu-nezavisnosti

My best regards,

David Pettigrew
